Medical Board
Under Section 75 of ESI Act, Medical Board for the Purpose of the Act and the Special Medical Board for the Purpose of Regulation 74 Shall be constituted by the corporation and where it is so desired, it may approach the State government for setting up the same and shall consist of such Jurisdiction and follow such procedure from time to time.
The case of Insured Person for P.D.B. shall be referred to Corporation to Medical Board in case of the extent of loss of earning capacity but not later than the end of the period of Provisional Assessment,
The Medical Board consists of following committee:
 
  (1) A General Physician
  (2) A Surgeon,
  (3) An Orthopedic Doctor
  (4) An Eye Specialist (If it is an Eye Medical Board)
 
  The Board examine the Insured Persons and decide/assess the % of permanent disability due to which the I.P. has lost the earning capacity under Section 54-A.
  But if the Insured Person does not satisfy with assessment given decided by Medical Board he can appeal in Medical Appeal Tribunal and than he can go to E.I. Court for the re-assessment.
