Medical Benefit:

The Scheme provides full range of medical care, namely; (i) Out-patient services (ii) Specialists' services; and (iii) Hospital services; through a network of dispensaries, diagnostic centers and ESI Hospitals, etc. Super-specialties are provided to the beneficiaries through the country's advances medical institutions for which payments are made directly by the ESI Corporation to the tip up private institutions concerned. |

An insured Person and his family members become entitled to medical care from the date he enters the insurable employment and the entitlement continues as long as the insured person is in insurable employment or is qualified to claim sickness, maternity or disablement benefit. The entitlement to medical care is extended upto two years to persons suffering from any of the 34 specified chronic or long-term diseases. Medical treatment to persons, who goes out of coverage during the period of treatment, is not discontinued till the spell of sickness ends. All Insured Persons and members of their families are entitled to free, full and comprehensive medical care under the scheme. |

OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE CENTRES:
|

As per policy decision of the Corporation on 8.12.1988 and 24.2.1993, the ESI Corporation has set-up five zonal Occupational Disease Centers with a view to provide the facilities of early detection and diagnosis of Occupational Diseases among ESI beneficiaries. These Zonal Occupational Diseases Centers cater to the needs of ESI dispensaries of the neighboring States also. The location of ODCs for West Zone is shown below: |

It is a 100 bedded hospital, It has been taken over by ESI Corporation in 2001 and is being set up as an ODC for the states of Maharashta, Gujarat and Goa. |
